Arndt Stüwe was born in 1970 in Lüneburg (Lower Saxony). After his first attempts at filmmaking during his school years, he worked for several years at the municipal theatre after graduating from the Johanneum zu Lübeck. He then moved into the film industry as a clapper/loader, before going on to study screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg from 1994. Since receiving his diploma in 1999, Arndt Stüwe has been working as a freelance writer and lives in Hamburg.
